Terrorism respects neither God, nor man

The EPP politician expressed his condolences to the local Roman Catholic community of the ignominiously murdered Father Jacques Hamel. György Hölvényi regarded the act of violence committed based on the request of the Islamic State terror organization an open attack against Christian people. According to the representative, the murder is a symbolic act: its real goal is war against Christians, which, as part of the Jihadist strategy well-known in the Middle East, has this time turned against Christians in Europe.

The EPP Group MEP emphasized that secular Europe is facing another challenge after the terrorist act: is it ready to guarantee the safety of its religious citizens? As the representative said, citizens want immediate action from the leaders of Europe and these leaders have to stand up to eliminate religious-based fear-mongering. As a representative responsible for interreligious dialogue, he expressed hope that “European Islamic leaders, with a unanimous declaration, denounce this brutal, religion-based murder.”
